West Sound Cash for Kids’ new mascot has been christened Courage the Cat following a national competition to name him.

Hundreds of entries were received from school children around the UK and the newly named furry feline will now be seen out and about in Dumfries & Galloway helping to raise funds for local needy and vulnerable children.

Dawn Gibson, Marketing and Communications Director, from Bauer Radio Charities said:

“Apart from being a unique entry we felt that the name conveyed a huge amount of meaning in association with a charity which helps so many children who show a huge amount of courage in overcoming adversity and difficult situations and was therefore the most appropriate choice.

“We have been working really hard on the re-brand of our Cash for Kids charity and having our mascot in place is really the icing on the cake. Courage the Cat will be a great mascot for our charity.”
